Specificity	The antiserum is determined to be monospecific for human alpha amylase found in human saliva and human pancreatic extract by immunodiffusion and IEP analysis. No reaction with other human proteins is observed. The antiserum is very similar to but somewhat stronger than the comparable the product sold by Sigma.Using Ouchterlony Double Diffusion, in 1% agarose, 5 ul of serially diluted antiserum is reacted with 5 ul of a 1 mg/ml solution of amylase. Titer is equivalent to the highest dilution of antiserum resulting in a visible precipitate.
